What is pretesting?

Pretesting is a research activity, a stage in the development of our online English Language assessments.

  • Students take a 45 minute 'pretest' online that matches their CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) level.
  • The data is received and analysed.
  • The data is used to calibrate the questions and make any changes needed, before they go into our ‘live’, or new, assessment products.

Pretesting is ongoing throughout the year, so it is up to you what date and time your students take the pretest. Pretesting runs with institutions all around the globe.
