STEP 2: Assign placement tests and email/print out student log-in details

To assign a test to your placement students follow the steps below. You will have the option to email and/or print out log in details toward the end of the process.

  1. Click the Tests tab and select Assign.
  2. Select the placement group you would like to assign to, then click the next button.
  3. Select the test from the drop-down menu in option A Assign a new test, then click the next button.
  4. Select either American or British for the Use of English section of the test, then click the next button.
  5. Select the mix of accents you would like to use for the Listening section of the test, then click the next button.
  6. Tick the student(s) you wish to assign the test to, then click the next button.
  7. Change the assignment details if necessary, then click the next button.
  8. Show/hide explanation of Assignment details:

  9. Check the summary carefully. If required, add an optional message to the email.
  10. Click the confirm and send button to send the email with the log-in details.
  11. Click the download & print button to download the log in details.
Note:
if you have created a placement group with unknown students you will not see any of the email options described above.

Your students can now log in to take the test by following the instructions on the slips or in the email. As soon as your students have completed the test you can view their results.
