STEP 3: View placement test results

To view your students' results follow the steps below.

  1. Click the Admin tab and select Manage placement results.
  2. Select the placement group that you want to check results for, then click the next button.
  3. Hover over the CEF level (e.g. C1) in the CEF column for more information about the grade.
  4. Click the column heading to sort that column.
Note:
The Use of English and Listening sections of the Oxford Online Placement Test are each scored out of 120.They are then equally weighted and combined to give an overall score out of 120. For scores above 1, each band of 20 refers to a CEFR level, as shown in the table below:

OOPT CEFR levels

Scores between 1 and 120 are rounded to the nearest whole number. This means that scores of 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 are each linked to two CEFR levels, as shown above. For example, a student with a score of 20 could receive a CEFR level of A1 or A2, depending on whether their score is rounded up or down.

For scores below 1, students will receive a decimal mark (0.0 - 0.9) and an A0 level indicator as shown in the table below:

The Use of English score and the Listening score are each out of 120. They are then equally weighted to give an overall score out of 120.

If you would like to email your students their results or print out results cards follow the steps below.

  1. On the View results page click the Print / send results button.
  2. Tick the students you wish to email/print results for.
  3. Select either Print now to download the results cards as a PDF, Send as attachment via E-mail to email the results card, or Send E-mail only to send the results in an email.
  4. Click the next button.
